2007 Firm Owner's Breakfasts Scheduled! The chapter has scheduled a series of FOUR breakfast specifically for Firm Owners/Principals in 2007. These breakfasts will have no set agenda or outside speakers, but will provide an opportunity, quarterly, to meet with your fellow AIA firm rincipals to discuss problems/solutions in managing an architecture firm. Due to space limitations, participation is limited to the first 24 frim owners who register, and you may register for all four in advance (and save $10), if you wish. Firm Owner's Information

If at least ONE principal of your firm is a Firm Owner Member in the Potomac Valley Chapter, you are entitled to:

A listing in our online Firm Search. If your firm does not show up when searched, please drop me an email and let me know in which categories your firm should be listed.
To have your firm listing in the AIA Architect Search TAGGED by the chapter, so it shows up when searched by the public.
If you do not have your firm listed with REED CONSTRUCTION DATA, it cannot be tagged by the chapter. To list your firm so it may be tagged by us, visit...HERE!
To have your firm listed in the FIRM section of the Washington Directory of Architects (jointly sponsored by AIA Washington, AIA Northern Virginia, and AIA Potomac Valley). Each summer, if there is a FIRM OWNER member in your firm, you will receive (by mail and email) a questionaire about your firm which should be returned by fax to Dawson Publications. We will make every effort to get the questionaire to you by whatever means possible, and it is YOUR responsibility to complete it and get it in as quickly as possible. The Firm Profile form is DUE at Dawson Publications (via fax or mail) no later than August 4, 2006 to be included in the 2007 Directory. IMPORTANT REGULATRY MATTERS...
Both Montgomery County and Prince George's County have asked for our feedback on two important issues:

Montgomery County has issued proposed DRAFT Local Revisions to the 2003 IBC for our review.
Prince Georges County is proposing changes to their inspection procedures by issuing a DRAFT Proposed Quality Assurance Inspection Program (QAIP).

Interested Members are requested to download and review these documents and forward any comments via email to Allen Neyman, AIA (allen@nsarchitects.com) ASAP. Both have requested feedback by the end of April, but we have respectfully requested an extention from both.

In-Firm Continuing Education? YES!
As a service to our firm members, we have installed a database of courses available for presentation during lunchtime IN YOUR FIRM. As of April 11, 2003, three are NINE courses available in the database, and with YOUR HELP, the offerings will grow! If you have had a good lunchtime course by an AIA/CES registered provider recently, , so we can contact them and tell them how they can add their course to our database for FREE! But now, you can CHECK OUR DATABASE for Courses!
