Small Practice Group News
The Small Practice Group of the AIA Potomac Valley Chapter was formed in 1994 to address the educational needs of the chapter's small practitioners (4 or less architects in firm).

The group meets almost every month on the last Friday of the month starting at 8:00am, at the offices of O'Neil and Manion Architects, 6931 Arlington Road, Suite 306, Bethesda, Maryland.

  (1) Presentation by Bernie Jones, representative for Benjamin Moore Paints: "Paint 101: What is Paint?"

  "Paint 101: What is Paint?" will provide overview information on types of paint, finishes, surface preparation and primers, with a brief VOC product overview. The presentation will be followed by a question and answer session.   6931 Arlington Road is located at the northeast corner of Bradley Blvd. and Arlington Road in Bethesda. The office building at 6931 is behind a strip of shops that includes a CVS, Big Bikes store, and a couple of banks. It is accessed via a courtyard that separates the two. Paid parking is available in the parking garage at the "elbow" of the L-shaped courtyard; the courtyard is entered from Arlington Road.
  Our hosts are Sara O'Neil and Bill Manion. Light breakfast and coffee will be provided. Continuing Education Units will apply. Newcomers are welcome.

    (2) "How To Work With a Kitchen Designer" presented by Tracy Thornett, Kitchen Designer at Nancy Thornett and Associates showroom

  Nancy Thornett and Associates is known to many area designers for high quality kitchen design and cabinetry products. Tracy Thornett has offered to host this meeting as our "end of the year" holiday festivity/learning event. We will be served drinks and hors d'oeuvres in addition to a presentation on kitchen design, and when and how to work with a kitchen designer.
